The issue I have with StS is that it has the frustrating parts of Dominion, such as the catastrophic low rolls or a bad decision you make only being apparent like 10 rounds later, and is so punishing when things don't go your way. Like Dominion, I think StS is deep but also dry in that you run out of "puzzle pieces" to find rather quickly and then it's all about your mastery of the game. I don't have much interest in the ascensions.
Making it do the next two cards is also too strong.Įthereal is a really smart "leash" to keep Echo from running wild in literally every deck, as it either forces an immediate upgrade if you're not confident you can always play it when it pops up, or it gets picked over/skipped.My play pattern for StS has been alternating between binging it for 6+ hours or something and then not touching it for a long time. The fact it duplicates literally ANY card, including itself is so strong it can't possibly be allowed to do it a third time without another Echo Form (although that one would make it four cards).
You can't increase the power of the Echo, it's already very strong as is. This leads to literally everybody picking up the card every time they see it, which I think is really bad design for a Rare. What else could you do to it that wouldn't be broken? Ethereal is the best they could do to it to make it fair in my opinion.Ģ Energy cost significantly reduces the risk of having it in your deck and playing it in every deck as opposed to only specific ones built around deck searching and energy production. The suggestion is that the upgrade should be something other than remove ethereal, only zu suggested actually changing the playing mechanic of the card. I'd rather you fix what's broken instead of wrecking what's actually good. Just leave the card alone, it's my favorite thing about Defect, especially considering the sea of garbage cards surrounding him. If you can consistently get Echo Form out on the field without hemorrhaging HP or otherwise gimping yourself (such as by holding powers wanting to double them), you deserve to reap the reward. High energy cost for potentially insane power with a specific, niche setup. I consider Echo Form no different than Corruption. It's not a "must-have-omg-never-skip-this" card because of the 3 cost Ethereal making it unfavorable for a lot of decks. It's Rare rarity which means you're probably only going to see it at all maybe one in 3 or 4 runs, it's a very poor pickup if you don't have the Energy to support it, as trying to blow an entire turn's worth of energy on Echo is probably going to get you killed sooner or later. Probably my second favorite deck of all-time in my 200+ hours. Ursprünglich geschrieben von Zerea:Can we just let Echo Form be as is? I've actually rarely had more fun in-game than when I managed to get a proper Echo Form deck going. I consider Echo Form no different than Corruption or Nightmare. Compare to Ironclad's Offering which I will take in literally every single deck I run because it's that good, or Inflame, or Adrenaline, or Footwork, or After Image, or Malaise.
